Understanding SoulrisAI's Chat Tiers — Free, Basic, Intelligent, Expert, and Super

Why tiers exist

Not every question needs the same amount of AI "horsepower." SoulrisAI groups its AI models into tiers — roughly from lightest to most capable — so that simple requests can be answered cheaply and fast, while harder requests get routed to a model actually equipped to handle them. This is the foundation that Auto routing sits on top of.

The tiers, in order

Free — what free-tier accounts are served by before any deposit. Capable of real, useful conversation, but it's the entry point, not where SoulrisAI's strongest reasoning lives.

Basic — a solid everyday tier for straightforward questions, quick explanations, and casual conversation once your wallet is funded.

Intelligent — a step up for requests that need more careful reasoning or more nuanced output than a quick answer requires.

Expert — aimed at genuinely demanding requests: technical depth, careful analysis, specialized knowledge.

Super — the top tier, reserved for the hardest or most consequential requests, where getting the best possible answer matters more than minimizing cost.

How this connects to cost

Each tier is priced differently, broadly in line with how much more capable (and more computationally expensive) the models in it are. This is exactly why Auto routing matters: it tries to match your message to the lowest tier that can genuinely handle it well, rather than defaulting everything to Super and charging accordingly.

Do I have to know which tier I need?

No — this is the entire point of Auto routing. You ask your question in plain language, and the system decides which tier is appropriate. The tier breakdown above is useful background if you're deciding whether to manually pick a model, but it's not something you need to think about for ordinary chat use.

When picking a tier yourself makes sense

If you know in advance that an entire conversation is going to be technically demanding — say, reviewing a legal document clause by clause, or working through a complex coding problem — you might choose to stay on Expert or Super for the whole thread rather than relying on Auto to route each message individually. That's a legitimate use of manual selection, covered in our guide on choosing a model manually.

The free tier isn't a "worse" version of the others

It's worth being clear: the free tier isn't a crippled trial — it's genuinely useful for everyday conversation. It's limited by quota and feature access (no attachments, no access to the higher tiers), not by giving you deliberately poor answers. See how the free trial works for the exact boundaries.

Bottom line

Think of tiers as the infrastructure Auto routing uses to be cost-efficient on your behalf, not as a menu you need to study before every message. Fund your wallet, ask what you actually need to ask, and let routing do the matching.
