How to Set Your Preferred Response Style on SoulrisAI
What response style controls
By default, SoulrisAI's AI responds in a balanced, general-purpose way. If that's not quite how you'd like it to talk to you, you can set a preferred response style in Settings, and it applies to every chat going forward — you don't have to ask for it each time.
The four styles
- Concise — short paragraphs or tight bullet points, no preamble, straight to the point. Good if you want fast, scannable answers and can ask a follow-up when you want more depth.
- Detailed — thorough explanations that cover reasoning, context, caveats, and edge cases rather than compressing for brevity. Good for learning something properly or when you need the full picture, not just the headline.
- Casual — a relaxed, conversational tone, like a knowledgeable friend texting back rather than a formal assistant. Good for everyday chat and brainstorming.
- Formal — professional tone, no slang or contractions. Good for anything you might copy into a work or academic context as-is.
How to change it
Open Settings, find Response Style, and pick the one you want. It takes effect immediately on your next message — no need to start a new conversation.
Does this apply to every model and tier?
Yes. Response style is applied consistently regardless of which model actually answers your message, whether that's chosen by Auto routing or by you manually. The instruction is written to behave the same way across different models, so switching models won't undo your style preference.
Can I override it for a single message?
Yes — your stored preference is the default, but you can always ask directly in a message ("keep this one short" or "go deeper on this specific point") and the AI will adapt for that exchange without you needing to change your saved setting.
Pairing it with a display name
Response style and display name personalization are two separate, independently-togglable settings — you can use one without the other, or both together, for a chat experience that feels more like it's actually built around how you prefer to communicate.
Which should you pick?
There's no universally "best" style — it genuinely depends on what you use SoulrisAI for. If you're mostly asking quick questions throughout the day, Concise probably suits you. If you're using it to actually learn or research something, Detailed is usually more useful even though responses take a little longer to read. Try one for a day or two and switch if it's not quite matching how you think — there's no cost or limit to changing it as often as you like.
