"\"My Message Won't Send\" — Common Causes and Fixes"
Work through these in order
Most "won't send" situations trace back to one of a handful of causes. Check them in roughly this order — it goes from most to least common.
1. Check your connection
Before anything else, confirm you actually have a working internet connection. A weak or dropped connection looks a lot like a stuck message, but it's the simplest thing to rule out first — try loading anything else online, or toggle Wi-Fi/mobile data off and back on.
2. Check for an insufficient-balance message
If your wallet balance doesn't cover the message you're trying to send — a longer message, an attachment, or a higher model tier than your balance allows — you'll see a clear message about it in the chat itself. See understanding insufficient balance mid-chat. Your message isn't lost; it stays ready to resend once you've topped up.
3. Check whether you've hit a free-tier limit
If you're on the free tier, you may have hit your daily message quota, or the message itself may be too long for the free tier's per-message limit. Both show a specific message explaining which limit you hit. See what happens when you hit your free-tier limit.
4. Check the message length and attachment size
Very long messages, or attachments in an unsupported format or over the size the app allows, can be rejected before sending. See supported file types and size limits for chat attachments if you're trying to send a file.
5. Try closing and reopening the app
If none of the above apply and the message still won't go, a simple restart resolves most lingering app-state issues. See app won't load / blank screen if restarting reveals a bigger loading problem rather than fixing the send.
6. Make sure you're on the latest version
An outdated app version can occasionally behave unpredictably with newer features. Check your app store or app listing for an available update.
If none of this fixes it
Note roughly what you were trying to send (a plain message, an attachment, an image/video request) and when it happened, and reach out to support with those details — it makes tracking down anything unusual much faster than "it just doesn't work."
Does a failed send ever cost me anything?
No. A message that doesn't successfully send is never charged — billing only happens once a request is genuinely processed. If you're ever unsure whether something was charged, check your wallet transaction history to confirm.
