Why a Reply Sometimes Stops Early (Balance-Based Shortening) and How to Avoid It

What you might be seeing

Occasionally, a chat response may stop partway through instead of finishing naturally — the answer trails off before it's complete. This is usually balance-based response shortening: your wallet balance was enough to start the response, but ran out before the AI finished generating it, so SoulrisAI ends the response at that point rather than letting it run up a cost your balance can't cover.

Why this is the right tradeoff

The alternative would be either letting a response run past what your balance can actually pay for (which SoulrisAI won't do, by design — it's part of how your wallet is protected from unexpected negative balances), or blocking the response from starting at all unless your balance could cover a worst-case long answer (which would mean short, simple responses getting blocked unnecessarily just because of what a long response might cost). Shortening the response when balance runs out mid-generation is the middle ground: you get as much of a real, useful answer as your balance allowed, rather than nothing.

How to tell this is what happened

A response that ends abruptly — mid-sentence, or clearly incomplete — right as your balance context shows as low or zero is the signature of this situation. It's different from a response that's just naturally short, and different from insufficient balance blocking a message before it starts — this is about a response that did start, but couldn't finish.

How to get the rest of the answer

Top up your wallet, then ask the AI to continue — "continue from where you left off" or "finish that answer" works well, since the conversation thread still has the partial response and your original question in context (see how conversation memory works). You don't need to re-ask the original question from scratch.

How to avoid it happening again

Is this the same as the free tier's quota limit?

No — this is specifically about wallet balance running out mid-response for an account that's already past the free tier (or mid-generation on a billed request). The free tier's limits are a separate mechanism — see how the free trial works for that distinction.
