How to Generate Your First AI Image on SoulrisAI
Two ways to generate an image
SoulrisAI gives you two entry points into image generation, and it's worth knowing the difference before you start.
The first is inside a chat — you can simply ask the AI to create an image for you as part of a conversation, the same way you'd ask it a question. The AI decides when to use its image-generation tool based on what you asked for.
The second is Image Studio, a dedicated interface for generating images directly, where you set the parameters yourself rather than describing them in a sentence. Both paths give you the same image quality options — you're not getting a "lesser" version of the feature either way, just a different way of controlling it.
This guide walks through the Image Studio path, since it makes every option explicit, but the core idea (prompt in, image out) is identical in chat.
What you need before you start
Image generation requires a funded wallet — it isn't available on SoulrisAI's free tier. See how the free trial works for what free-tier access does and doesn't include, and why attachments need a deposit for the reasoning behind this, which applies to image generation the same way it does to chat attachments.
Step 1: Write your prompt
Describe the image you want in plain language — the more specific, the better your result. "A cup of coffee" will get you a cup of coffee; "a steaming cup of coffee on a wooden table, morning light from a window, shallow depth of field" gives the model far more to work with. See our separate guide on writing effective image prompts for a fuller breakdown of what to include.
There's a practical limit on how long a prompt can be — if you're pasting in a very long description, trim it to the essentials.
Step 2: Choose an aspect ratio
SoulrisAI supports four aspect ratio options:
- Square — even width and height, good for profile images or social posts
- Portrait — taller than wide
- Landscape — wider than tall
- Auto — lets the system pick a sensible default rather than you specifying one
If you're not sure, Auto is a reasonable starting point.
Step 3: Pick a quality level
In Image Studio, you choose a quality tier directly — Standard, High, or Ultra. Higher tiers generally mean better fidelity and a higher cost. See choosing an image quality tier and what it costs for how these map to price and when a higher tier is actually worth it. (If you're generating an image through chat instead of Studio, SoulrisAI picks the quality level for you automatically based on your chat tier — see understanding chat tiers.)
Step 4: Generate
Once your prompt, aspect ratio, and quality are set, submit the request. SoulrisAI reserves the estimated cost from your wallet balance before generation starts, so you know up front that you have enough balance to cover it — you won't be charged more than that reserved amount.
Generation isn't instant — expect a short wait while the request is processed.
Step 5: Review and download
Once your image is ready, you can view it and download it via a secure, time-limited link.
If something goes wrong
Occasionally a generation can fail — a content-policy rejection, a temporary system issue, or an insufficient balance. See common reasons an image generation fails for what to check and what to do next.
Editing an image you already have
If you want to start from an existing image — one you've uploaded or one SoulrisAI already generated for you — rather than from a blank prompt, that's a separate "edit" flow rather than a fresh generation. See regenerating or tweaking an image for how that works.
Try it yourself
Once your wallet has a balance, open Image Studio, write a prompt, and generate your first image — it's the fastest way to get a feel for how the model interprets your wording before you dig into the finer points of prompting.
