Changing Your Response Style and Display Name in Settings

Settings is where your personalization lives

A handful of things that shape how SoulrisAI talks to you and behaves all live in one place: Settings. This post is a quick tour of what's there, with links to the deeper explanation of each if you want it.

Response style

Controls how the AI's answers are written — concise, detailed, casual, or formal — and applies across every conversation once set. See how to set your preferred response style for what each option actually changes.

Display name

Lets the AI address you by name occasionally, where it fits naturally, rather than staying generic. See personalizing the AI with your display name for how it's used and how to turn it off.

Content filter level

Separate from response style, you can set your own content filter to Standard or Strict — a personal boundary on top of SoulrisAI's platform-wide rules. See content guidelines: what you can and can't generate for the rules this sits alongside.

Notification preferences

Several toggles control what SoulrisAI notifies you about — low balance alerts, generation-complete alerts, and more. See managing notifications on SoulrisAI for the full breakdown.

The "help improve SoulrisAI" toggle

An opt-in setting, off by default, about whether your conversation data can be used to help improve the product. See how SoulrisAI uses and protects your data for what this currently does and doesn't do.

Do changes apply right away?

Yes — everything in Settings takes effect immediately and applies going forward. There's no save-and-wait delay, and nothing requires restarting the app or starting a new conversation to take hold.

Settings across web and mobile

Your settings are tied to your account, not your device — change something on web and it applies the next time you open the mobile app too, and vice versa. See Soulris on web vs. the mobile app if you're deciding which to use day to day.
